Ice Princess

My passion for dance, speed and movement led me to figure skating at an early age. Rotation, momentum, gliding and balance shaped my bodily memory and continue to live on in my sculptures today.
In recent works, I combine hand-built stoneware with textile elements such as tulle and fabric fragments. Through this combination, I explore the tension between permanence and ephemerality, weight and lightness, structure and softness.

The Ice Princesses  detach themselves from the ice.

They float through space – freed from gravity, transformed into movement, lightness and inner independence.

Weightless despite their physical presence.

They spin, leap, dance.

The weight dissolves – yet a powerful presence remains.

What remains is the joy of movement, balance and weightlessness – a fleeting moment between floating and arrival.

Sculpture – Wall Object.

Two Forms – One Movement.
