The Joy of Movement

My passion for dance, speed and movement led me to figure skating at an early age. Rotation, momentum, gliding and balance shaped my bodily memory and continue to live on in my sculptures today.

In my Ice Princesses, the figures detach themselves from the groundedness of the ice. They float through the air – free from gravity and body weight, transformed into movement, lightness and inner independence.

Despite their physical presence, the figures appear weightless. They leap, spin and rise towards the sky. The weight of the body seems to dissolve, while a strong presence still remains.

What remains is the joy of movement, balance and weightlessness – a fleeting moment between floating and arrival.
