The installation UP evolved from an earlier work, Light Mirrors, created in 2023. In both works, floating stoneware bowls become reflective surfaces for light, movement, and perception.

Influenced by dance and figure skating, the installation explores moments in which gravity seems to dissolve and movement transforms into stillness.

None of the bowls are perfectly symmetrical, nor are their glazed surfaces completely uniform. These irregularities are intentional. I am not interested in industrial perfection, but in individuality, spontaneity, and the vitality of the handmade.

As light shifts and the viewer moves through the space, the bowls become changing mirrors of reflection and shadow. Light animates their surfaces, allowing each form to unfold its own quiet presence.
