Lady with Blue Flowers

Re.Aktion on the Nude in Pink (1935) by Matisse

In search of ideas for the exhibition Re.Aktion I leafed through some art magazines and tried to feel what painters and their works trigger in me.
The wonderful painting  Nude in Pink  by Matisse immediately inspired me to realize this nude as a sculpture.

The monumentality of the sculpture, the eternal feminine - the round form, the inner greatness, the power of the woman, the power of the mother...
I particularly wanted to emphasize the contrast between the earthy brown-red of the terracotta stoneware, the strong ultramarine blue and the gold leaf.

They give the figure warmth, elegance and the majesty of a goddess.
