When I participated in the first Elephants for Peace exhibitions in Cyprus in 2008 and 2009, the long-standing conflict between Greek and Turkish Cypriots left a profound impression on me.

Years later, these memories found their way into The Whisperers — a group of figures shaped by the quiet atmosphere of separation, hope, and human connection.

Rather than speaking aloud, they seem to whisper to one another across invisible boundaries, reminding us that understanding often begins with listening.

Elephants for Peace was founded by the artist Rose Marie Gnausch.
